placecast partners with location labs to expand reach of sms marketing campaigns

Text-message advertising startup Placecast is partnering with Location Labs to potentially extend the reach of Placecast’s ShopAlerts service to over 180 million potential consumers in the US. Location Labs offers developers an API that gathers location data from carriers such as AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.

Location Labs’ API will be used for Placecast’s ShopAlerts, which are location-triggered mobile text messages sent from brands to consumers. Consumers can opt-in to receiving text messages in a variety of ways—at the store, online, via text-message, mobile websites or on Facebook. airtel reaches villages with new campaign

The on ground activity starts from northern Gujrat to promote Airtel Krishi Card.

Airtel has come up with an initiative to generate awareness about Airtel Krishi Card, which aims to increase customer convenience and empower farmers by giving them access to vital agricultural information. The campaign informs farmers about the concept of Airtel Krishi Card and enables them to experience its salient features at their doorsteps.

The first phase of the initiative has been rolled out in North Gujarat and will be followed by similar activities in the major agrarian states of India such as Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. Through this initiative, the brand educates the farmers about the service, its availability in vernacular languages, delivered through SMS and voice, along with a well trained call centre support. Google and Apple prepare for mobile advertising battle

Google and Apple are gearing up to launch ads on their apps, a strategy which is set to change the advertising landscape for ever. British mobile users will soon find themselves embroiled in the epic confrontation taking shape between Apple and Google. iAds, Apple’s bid to run advertisements inside apps, is expected to make its UK debut in September. Mobile marketing moving in many directions

Mobile applications have opened several new doors for restaurant operators looking to extend their reach, but technological advancements over the past two years have left many in the industry trying to catch up to what new mobile marketing opportunities have to offer.

“Mobile marketing is very much of a wild west right now,” said Bryce Marshall, director of Strategic Services at Akron, Ohio-based Knotice. “There’s been so much advancement in mobile devices just in the last two years in terms of technology that’s available. LG Gets Heroic with “Iron Man 2″ Campaigns

With the unofficial start of the summer blockbuster season just days away thanks to the May 7 premiere of “Iron Man 2”, LG Electronics Mobilecomm has launched a multi-platform marketing campaign stressing the super powers its wireless technology can give the average person.

The campaign turns on the LG Ally, the manufacturer’s first smartphone model built on the android operating system. The phone, which will be prominently featured in the new movie, will not actually be on retail shelves until May 20.

But once it is, consumers will be able to use the new handset to text LGIM2 to a short code and download an Augmented Reality app—reportedly the first available for any Android phone, and exclusive to the LG Ally—and use it to interact with an online game.
