Skype now available for Nokia smartphones in Ovi Store

Skype and Nokia yesterday jointly announced the release of Skype for Symbian, a Skype client for Nokia smartphones based on the Symbian platform, the world’s most popular smartphone platform. Skype for Symbian will allow Nokia smartphone users worldwide to use Skype on the move, over either a WiFi or mobile data connection (GPRS, EDGE, and 3G). It is now downloadable for free from the Ovi Store, Nokia’s one-stop shop for mobile content.

Skype for Symbian will run on any Nokia smartphone using Symbian ^1, the latest version of the Symbian platform. Skype will soon introduce this client to Symbian mobile devices from other manufacturers, including Sony Ericsson.

FDA urged to probe digital marketing by drugmakers

The US Food and Drug Administration(FDA) has been urged to conduct a thorough investigation into the use by pharmaceutical companies of digital marketing techniques.

The health and safety of US consumers must be protected from “inappropriate and potentially harmful use of digital marketing applications that have been embraced by pharmaceutical and health marketers,” and which have given the industry “unprecedented abilities to take advantage of consumers,” claims the non-profit Center for Digital Democracy (CDD). Unilever Clarifies Fake Prize Schemes and Fake Calls

Unilever Pakistan would like to inform its consumers that some deceitful persons have been cheating the consumers using the Company and its well known Brand names to promote illicit lucky draws and fake gift schemes for public.

Consumers have been receiving calls from various mobile and landline numbers, informing them of their lucky draw wins. Later, they are asked to deposit or pay varying amounts of money in bank accounts or otherwise.
