I came across an excellent initative by the Heritage Foundation on Facebook a few days ago – a project labelled ‘Makai Tandoori Naan- straight from the Himalayas to your doorstep‘, is a step taken by them to promote the fine textured maize from the Northern areas of the country, and its own unique taste.
Apart from that, their primary purpose is to support the women of the 2005 earthquake afflicted areas by purchasing their makai tandoori naan – made available for the first time in Karachi.
I particularly want to appreciate the effort that has gone into promoting this activity across social media. Over the past week their ‘event’ has spread virally across Facebook, and hopefully the efforts of the foundation are paying off.
Also, I tried them out the other day – they are delicious! All those reading, please join hands and come together to help them build up a livelihood..
