712,000 Views and Counting for New Coca-Cola Happiness Video

A new happiness-themed marketing campaign by Coca-Cola has gone viral, getting more than 712,000 views within its first 24 hours. Launched by Definition 6, the ‘Open Happiness’ global advertising campaign was introduced this week through Coca-Cola’s YouTube channel.

Dante’s Inferno proves it: Classic literature is a videogame gold mine.

Now that Electronic Arts is finished reimagining Dante Alighieri’s epic poem as an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 adventure through the circles of hell, the development team’s going to need to find inspiration in other classic literary works.

Nokia pilot ‘point & find’ Posters

Colchester, South East England might not seem like the most likely location for a pilot of cutting edge mobile phone technology but being a pretty average UK town makes it a good place to test just how interested ordinary citizens might be in using their smart-phone cameras to interact with poster sites. Viewing any of the poster sites in Colchester through the camera of a compatible Nokia device will automatically offer the user on-screen hyperlinks to content specifically related to the poster in question, ranging from video clips to competitions.  This is achieved through a combination of image-recognition and GPS technology. Customers choose the style, heel type, heel height, adornments and colours, and select from raw materials including calf skin, snake skin, fish skin, silk and more, which makes for a near infinite number of possible combinations. ‘Striker’ becomes first Bollywood film to release on YouTube

‘Striker’ has become the first Bollywood film to be premiered overseas on YouTube.

The movie, produced by The Indian Film Company in association with Studio 18, hit screens on 5 February in India and released simultaneously on You Tube.

The makers of the film insist that the free-of-charge release on the video sharing website aims to reach the audience in a “cost-effective manner”.

Yamaha WaterCraft discloses mobile strategy

After launching a sweepstakes that caused a 400-plus percent increase in consumers signing up for its SMS alerts program, Yamaha Watercraft Group is back at work on mobile initiatives.

The company just revamped its Yamaha WaveRunner and Boat WAP sites with an all new design including a video tab, more product information, a calendar of events and accessory photos streamed in from Flickr.

Mobile Marketer’s Chris Harnick spoke with Kennesaw, GA-based Bryan Seti, national marketing manager for Yamaha WaterCraft Group, about the company’s work in the mobile space. Here is what he had to say:
