Funny: KFC is releasing a “Double Down” sandwich in select markets, made only of two fried chicken filets, cheese and “colonel” sauce (no bun). Despite KFC not releasing any official videos, the sandwich was a hit on YouTube. Pirated commercials/news clips of the “Double Down” garnered 382,341 views on YouTube and other sites so far, more than any single video in KFC’s official channel (including the colonel’s skit on Jimmy Kimmel).
Volvo, the Swedish car maker launched a social media contest today that plays off its product placement deal with Summit Entertainment, in which Twilight star Edward Cullen drives the new crossover vehicle.
On walking through Central Station the other morning, one can’t help but be struck by the new campaign that Dove (owned by Unilever) have launched, called the ‘Campaign for Real Beauty’. It’s actually an international campaign, but the latest version has just hit Sydney with a high impact plastering of outdoor promotion at one of Sydney’s busiest train stations (and elsewhere).
